The Ricordi printing house had by this time expanded and opened branches in Naples (1864), Florence (1865) and Rome (1871).
This beautiful frontispiece is protected by a plain outer cover. It is lithographed and probably hand-painted with initial lettering recalling old manuscripts.
This copy for pianoforte and voice is of moderate difficulty and would have been popular entertainment in the local nineteenth-century 'sala'.
