Golden Plover whistle - Suffara tal-pluvieri


W.005  Golden Plover whistle - Suffara tal-pluvieri
             Late-19th or early-20th century Maltese hunting whistle.
             Made from Arundo donax, known in Malta as qasab.
             One fingerhole. Produces sound of the golden plover.
             An able whistler can produce other bird calls (such as
             that of the stone curlew) with the same whistle.
             Length 130mm
